Yes, MUkoTE is the perfect app to mute those annoying ads. All you have to do is run the program and let it work in the background. Whenever you hear an ad on Spotify, double click MUkoTE's icon in the system tray and the program will add the ad's title to a list, and mute the sound. Then, whenever this ad plays again, MUkoTE will recognize it and mute it.
MUkoTE doesn't really remove adds – just mutes the sound - and takes a while to configure. But for some people having a 20-second gap between songs from time to time might be a better choice than having to listen to annoying ads.
